About the Author
Adam Hart-Davis is a freelance photographer, writer and broadcaster. Educated at Eton College and Oxford and York universities, he worked in publishing and television production before becoming a presenter. He is best known for his television series Local Heroes, What the Stuarts Did For Us, What the Tudors Did For Us, What the Victorians Did For Us and What the Romans Did For Us. He has twelve honorary doctorates in addition to the DPhil that he earned in organometallic chemistry and is an honorary member of the British Toilet Association.
