When the first Star Wars film was screened in 1977 it changed the face of intelligent adventure blockbusters forever and defined the cinematic experience of a whole generation of moviegoers. The industry that followed - two sequels, three prequels, an entire book publishing programme, dedicated magazines and comic books; toys and figurines, plus sell-out conventions where fans could meet the actors, writers and film-makers - turned the Star Wars phenomenon into the most influential and commercially successful entertainment franchise of its kind; one, moreover, which is still going strong after 30 extraordinary years. Now, to commemorate its thirtieth anniversary year, comes the ultimate Star Wars collectible keepsake book. In these lavishly produced and designed full colour pages fans will find a treasure trove of never-before-seen letters, photographs and other material connected with the films each of which has been lovingly reproduced from the originals. In 30 years of Star Wars publishing there has never been a Star Wars book like this one - a must-have purchase for every Star Wars fan.

A must read for anyone who's loved Star Wars all their life
This is a fantastic book, filled with reproductions of items from Lucasarts and Steven Sansweets collections. If you were old enough to see Star Wars when it was first released in 1977 then there will be something in this book that will have you saying 'I had one of those' to yourself as you read it and investigate all the pull outs and fold outs.
There are two audio cd's included that contain interviews with Mark Hamill, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher, George Lucas and more. As well as behind the scenes programs about how some of the sound effects were made up with Ben Burtt, there is also a documentary on the NPR Star Wars Radio Dramatisation along with about 15 mins of the first episode to listen too. And if you weren't lucky enough to be able to go to Celebration 3 there is the Q&A session from the George Lucas/Rick Macallum session.
All in all a superb book and one I am glad I purchased.
A Must Have Book for any Star Wars Fan!
I have an extensive range of non fiction Star Wars books in my collection and value every single one of them. However this book will take pride of place in that collection.
One thing that strikes you when you get this is is how HUGE it actually is (It's about the same dimensions as the Star Wars Chronicles book) -I was actually expecting it to be smaller considering the price. Then it comes in a fantastic thick card slip case -amazing and all this for just £20 from Amazon.
Open the book up and every single one of the pages is packed with colour photos/illustrations etc detailing the whole history of the Star Wars movies as well as accurate reproductions of some never before seen material from the LucasFilm archives ( the reproduction of the publicity brochure is a sight to treasure).
I could go on and on but must now get back to browsing through the book again -it's that addictive. And those that have the Star Wars Scrapbook -whilst I love that book too it now looks like a booklet compared to this tome!
Just go ahead and buy it -you won't be disappointed and the Amazon price is a real bargain for what you actually get.
Amazing
It's like someone took all the memorabilia I had as a kid that got lost and put it in a book along with some cool extras I didn't know existed.
I'm no longer a kid, but this book reminds me how it felt being a kid on Christmas day! Wow.
