Good for it's meant to be good for
I bought this book shortly before my chemistry exam for some revision from a different perspective to my textbook and notes.
It's a very concise and informative book that takes you through all the major points of the course, with some jokes on the way (warning: not everyone will find these funny).
It certainly aided my revision efforts, but I would stress that if you're aiming for the highest grades you should not use this book alone. You should use it in conjunction with a textbook (e.g: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Chemistry-Student-Book-CD-ROM-Level/dp/0435691813/ref=sr_1_3?ie=UTF8&qid=1245498321&sr=8-3) and your notes.
The reason this book gets 4/5, and not 5/5, is firstly because I noticed one or two errors in the book (hopefully these will be revised) and because - of course, as it is a revision book - it does miss out a lot of the details. It is great for making you recall these details - so it meets it's purpose as a revision book - but you should not try to learn things that you didn't originally learn from the book. Hence, I recommend making sure you have good notes or a textbook to learn from first and then using this book to see if you can remember the details - as it reminds you of the major points.
Also, it's always nice to read the points of the course from a different perspective, to help it stick.
