The Pride of Hitlers Navy
My expectations of this book were crushed when I actually had it in my hands. Nothing new is presented both on the history - less than 1/4 of the book and to the differences between the two ships - and on the building of kitsets for the remaining 3/4. Lovely colour photos of builds in various scales with little information on how they actually got there. These can also be found on the net - in this volume thet are brought together which is nice - you don't have to search for them yourself. Maybe I was expecting more. I have the majority of reference books on both ships with more and better quality photos, so this book added very little to what I already have. Money better spent on some of the actual reference books would be advised. Book is OK but not spectacular for its value - hence the average rating of two AND a half.
Air Combat Manoeuvres
Air Combat Manoeuvres (Ian Allan Pubg, 2008). Intended largely as a guide for flight simulation, it appeals also to anyone interested in the history of air fighting from the earliest days. The photographs are well chosen, and the artist illustrates beautifully how the complex manoeuvres used have developed over the years. Thoroughly recommended. I know of no publication to match it.
