Editorial Reviews

Review
"This is an excellent book that will be a welcome addition to any dermatology library. It succeeds in covering basic biology with a clinical perspective. Most dermatology registrars will wish to have a copy, because it contains all the information that we really ought to know but probably don't." -Journal of the Royal Society of Medicine, February 2002

Synopsis
A clinician's textbook on skin biology, published expressly for practitioners and residents in dermatology, plastic surgery and otolaryngology. Essentially an expansion of the editors' and contributing authors' "Structure and Function" course given annually at the meetings of the American Academy of Dermatology, the book is designed to teach skin biology in the context of practical clinical settings. Its main sections cover the basic biology of the skin, how the skin functions, effects of the environment, the molecules that direct cutaneous function, genetic influences, and methods in cutaneous research.
