Product Description

"The Big Story" retells the Bible story, giving a lively overview of what actually happens, witnessing the key events and meeting the most important characters. It's split into five 'Acts' - The Fathers, The Exodus, The Kings, The Messiah, The Church. Each of these looks at the story of humans and their relationship with God. The episodes are accompanied by short commentaries, explaining the background, giving information, helping the reader to spot key themes, and simply encouraging people to think about what is happening.

Customer Reviews

Another Page turner from Nick5
I would thoroughly recommend this book to anyone, whether they be new Christian, life-long Christian or simply someone with an inquisitive mind. For me, as a life-long christian, most of the stories within "The Big Story" were very familiar. However, it still managed to make me see the Bible in a new light by drawing themes together and making connections between the Old and New Testaments that I hadn't previously recognised. As usual Page's clear communication and wit make this a memorable read, complimented by humorous illustrations and a reader-friendly, cross referenced layout.

If you are looking for a heavy, theological text then this is not the book for you. Most will none-the-less find it refreshing and thought provoking, and be inspired afresh in reading the original "Big Story".

I found this book both informative and an easy read.
I would recommend it to anyone who wanted to know about The Bible and place it in its historical context.

Well worth a read.
