Editorial Reviews

Synopsis
The development of links between education and business are an important part of the government's drive to improve skill levels and the nation's competitiveness. Links cover a diverse pattern of activities from attending the occasional careers evening through providing work experience placements, to providing an input to a major segment of the curriculum. This report, commissioned by the Employment Department, looks at employers' views of education business links. It examines why and how employers get involved with education and what sort of activities they prefer. It draws out implications for employers, education links agencies and policy bodies and concludes that the supply of links from the employer side is not a significant constraint in developing a higher level of activity.
