About the Author
Archie Markham was born in 1939 in Montserrat, and moved to britain in 1956. He is Proffessor of Creative writting at Sheffield Hallam University, and has taught and held residencies in Papua New Guinea, London and Coleraine. He edidited: The penguin book of Caribbean Short stories (1996). Also poetry books including Human Rites: selected poems (1984, living in Disguise(1986), Towards the End of a centuary (1989) and misapprehensions (1995)- all fromn Anvil- and letter from Ulster and Hego poems (1993) from Arc
