A Spanish Genius
An excellent collection of Lorca's poems spanning the whole range of his career, from the elegant and simplistic style of his early poems to the longer and more complex style of the later ones.

This book is greatly enhanced by the inclusion of the poems in the original Spanish as well as in English, as anyone with a little knowledge of the language should be able to appreciate comparing the original with the translated version.

The strong imagery of the poems denote the passion and violence present in Lorca's Spain at the time of his writing and reflect the poet's own sexual and political views. These poems are a lasting legacy to the intense and, ultimately, tragic figure of Lorca. I urge you to read them. No one writes with such exquisite insight and beauty as Lorca.
