By far the best choice for the new entrepreneur
Having bought this book from a bookshop (sorry, Amazon) I was able to compare it with other similar titles. Now that I've read it from cover to cover I know it was the best choice. The biggest problem I've found is that the majority of books in this category are American, which is fine if you can cope with the happy-clappy writing style, but completely useless for a reference work that has to deal with tax law, trademark rules and company registration. Happily, this book is 100% British, complete with addresses and phone numbers of useful British contacts. The authors start with a quick checklist of whether you would be a suitable candidate for starting your own business. "If you decide the answer is no, you need not bother to read the other 24 chapters in this book," reads chapter 1. "We will have saved you the expense and heartache of a failed business". Very true, I believe, and considering the cost of the book also includes a free update service -- which entitles you to notifications of changes in law and so on -- this book is a first-class bargain.
