Come with us and explore our wonderful countryside on your bike. We'll take you along peaceful country lanes, down half-forgotten paths and trackways through fields and woods, and along the banks of rivers and canals. You'll discover unspoilt out-of-the-way places that most people will never find. You'll see the natural world of the country at close quarters, with its endless variety of trees and plants, birds, farm animals, and wild creatures like foxes and deer. We've planned these rides to be suitable for ordinary people, including families with children, so you won't need to be an athlete to enjoy them. The shorter routes of up to 10 miles are ideal for a half-day's outing, while the longer rides will suit those looking for something more ambitious. Or, if you want an even greater challenge, you can always combine two or more of the routes into one ride! Whichever ride you choose, you're certain to discover new sights, and you'll probably see a few familiar places in an entirely new light. All the ride descriptions include fascinating stories and background information about the places and features of interest you'll pass along the way, as well as providing clear and comprehensive directions to keep you on the right track.

Excellent guide to E Surrey
This is a really great book and a wonderful way to explore the beautiful countryside of East Surrey. The author has clearly taken time to explore the routes and the history of the area. Each route is graded, has a map (accurate enough), short route description and a long route description. The long description has interesting information about the towns and places of interest along the route.
Almost perfect!
Ron's two books of Surrey cycle rides are virtually faultless. He knows Surrey inside out. There can't be a lane or bridleway he hasn't cycled along. But what makes these books special is Ron's attention to detail. Choose from a shorthand version of the route to photocopy and attach to your handlebars or the easy-to-read longer version that describes every nook and cranny in great detail. You'll never get lost!
The piece de resistance is the additional information Ron gives on the places you're visiting. Rather than a simple paragraph cribbed from the internet, the history of each place of interest has been fully researched. I've learnt new things about places I've been to hundreds of times. It's not often you can actually sit down and READ a book that describes a cycle route.
The only criticism would be that the publisher should have paid to use OS mapping rather than using sketches and the book should be in colour to show off the photographs.
If you cycle in Surrey, you NEED this book!
