Designed for candidates sitting the MCEM Part A examination, this book is an invaluable tool for exam preparation, success in which is obligatory for entry into higher specialist training. 404 4-part practice questions, including three full practice exams, are presented reflecting the format used in the actual examination. These questions specifically address the curriculum published by the College of Emergency Medicine. Practical advice on the format and content of the examination, plus techniques for answering questions are provided, and full comprehensive explanations are given for all the answers, to allow the reader to assess their own level of knowledge and target areas of weakness. Get Through MCEM Part A: MCQs is comprehensive and authoritative: all authors are practising emergency physicians, with either personal experience of sitting the exam itself, or examining it. This is an essential revision aid for candidates sitting Part A of the MCEM examination but is also a valuable revision tool for individuals sitting the FCEM examination and medical students revising for clinical exams.

Does What It Claims On The Cover
Having been in the unenviable position of failing a variety of exams, at different stages of my career, I feel reasonably qualified to offer opinions on how best NOT to fail. Clearly the advice I was offered by one of my Registrars ("You must know everything") is not specific enough, even if it is, to some degree, true.
A solid, comprehensive knowledge base will not be enough without practising the art of answering questions. This text offers just such an opportunity; it is well laid out, comprehensive and easy to use.
I would commend it to you most highly
