Great overview of all major battles on british soil
This book is great for everyone who has read/heard a lot about british history, but who likes to know more about how it actually happened, what weapons were used. Not only does Seymour describe the battles themselves but he also tells what events led up to the battle and why things happened as they did. But this he only does to get a better understanding of the proceedings of the battles. Luckily, he refrains from telling "what might have happened, had the other side won" A great book for learning the details of battles from Hastings (+ the two proceeding battles) until the battles in the reign of George II. It would have been nice though, if major battles, important for Britain, but not actually fought on British soil would have been included, like: Agincourt, Crecy, Poitiers etc...
