Good practitioners manual4
Knowledge is the tool of choice for most professionals and this book certainly fits the bill. As a manager of police officers and civilian case investigators this document has proved most useful in seeing the perspective of the duty solicitor. Clearly utilising the experience of serving or recently retired officers it is only right that this book forms a part of the reference library for all custody practitioners be they lawyer or investigator.

A very good insight into the world of defence (from an investigators point of view)5
I bought this book along with Eric Shepherds Investigative Interviewing book and I am glad I did. It provides clear insight into how solicitors/leg reps start the defence process and what they are looking for from the off. It clearly sets out the aims and objectives of the defence and allowed me to revisit my own methodologies when dealing with disclosure. This book is now part of my reference library and has become something I dip in and out of on a regular basis. It is a must for anyone who is in the law enforcement investigation field. I would also seriously recommend the Investigative Interviewing book to contrast and compare.
