This manual is designed for those who care for working horses but who may have little or no access to professional veterinary help. By guiding readers to the appropriate action to take when caring for a sick animal, this book will help alleviate the suffering of horses, donkey and mules and thereby minimize the lost livelihood opportunities that can result. "Horse Healthcare" is designed to be accessible to both the owners of working equids themselves and the people who can help them out. Simple language is used and the text is clearly laid out with illustrations throughout. This makes the book useful to people who cannot understand standard texts on horse healthcare. In poorer countries, in situations where horse owners have no alternative but to treat their own sick animals, this manual gives guidance on how to do this properly and provides advice on how to prevent many common illnesses of equids.

Vet's review
Horse Healthcare is an excellent book for both the horse owner and vets working with horses. It has been written to be used in a developing country but I found just of much use for my clients in the UK. The text is clear and comprehensive and amply illustrated with superb line drawings. A must for all horse owners - strongly recommended.

Horse Healthcare review
This is an excellent book with well written text and beautifull hand-drawn diagrams. It has been produced for use in the developing world and should provide an invaluable reference for anybody working with horses or donkeys. However, as a UK vet, I also found it also equally applies to horses in the UK. I would srongly recommend this book to any horse owner or practising vet as part of their equine library.
