Pat Hughes, Senior Lecturer in Primary Education at Liverpool Hope University College, has taught in Early Years, Primary and Further Education settings. She has written many books for teachers, students and pupils, including the in-house version of this text, initially developed as the core text for the full- and part-time PGCE courses at Liverpool Hope.
