Great book with expressions understandable for nonchemists!
This book surprised me! I believed it was an ordinary cosmetic recipe book. But this book explains very much about the stuff we use in our home made cosmetics than other books I have read. Even the technical terms that can be a bit tricky for us amateurs. The recipes were easy to make, and the result was very good on those I have tried. I also found the chapter on making tinctures and herbal oils useful. Nice step to step photos on how to do helped me a lot! This book will not collect dust in my shelf, it will be used a lot. I will recomend this book to others who want to make their own cosmetics.

Great for the do-it-yourself beauty queen
I was given this book as a thank you for doing a talk for Young Enterprise. I was expecting something quite boring and bland as I never expected serious recipes (why would the people behind Neal's Yard giveaway their secrets?). However I was pleasantly surprised.

This book is great for anyone who loves making their own cosmetics at home as it has enough recipes to keep you busy. A prefect present for a teenager too as it will keep them out of trouble (at least for a year hours).

Not recommended for those looking for recipes to extend their business-most of the recipes by my opinion would either need tinkering or more preservatives added before they could last long enough to be considered for assessing and selling.

excellent guide for first timers,
the book features alot of recipes with step by step guides and is very good as a basic introduction to making cosmetics at home. It is quite an up and coming trend, with alot of emphesis now on the use of natural products, combined with other areas such as aromatherepy, there is alot to be gained from this book, including the satisfaction of making your own products in the comfort of your own home.
