Practical Advice For Intimacy with God5
Sub-titled "Realizing Your Identity In Christ", this book encourages everyone to do just that. So many Christians are not living in all the power of God, even though God freely gives it all in what He has done through Jesus. Anderson gets to the heart of what these things are, being filled with the Holy Spirits power, not through a formula, but in a vital relationship with who God really is. The message can truly set people free to be who they were meant to be, as it gets to the root of the problem, not behaviour, but belief.

The book covers subjects such as who I am in Christ, and is laid out in a manner that you can come back to again and again (I have). There are simple lists of verses from the Bible and the meaning for each Christian with a challenge to BELIEVE what God says about who you are in Christ, without the compulsion to behave as if you are like Christ when the original belief is not there.

There are tips on how to have control over your thoughts, so that you are not just going with whatever is planted there which is not from God. This is for me the key to successful growing as a Christian. Is this a Book for non-Christians too? Well yes, because it cuts through the pious outward "signs" that some use to project Jesus, and gets at the heart of what it means to BE a Christian.

essential for the christian counsellor5
Neil Anderson provides a very balanced view of christian and how one can live a life of victory. This is not a book where you find general principles, but it is strongly based on the word of God and on how one can overcome. It is a great resource for the pastor, for the counsellor and even for the christian who wants to walk in victory.

The Secret is to Want What You Have-not Have What You Want!5
This is a life transforming book for finding the real power for living. That secret is to live as Dr Anderson prescibes, in the power of God's Holy Spirit and to take captive the stray thoughts that form on going patterns in our behaviour. Anderson demonstrates from decades of his own experiences in life, pastoring, counselling and learning in biblical theology how to break the bondages that bind so many up. There are practical as well as truthful principles from God's word to direct you towards the goal of living as God intended.

The thing that particularly appealed to me was the realisation that having what you want NEVER satisfies, though that is the maessage that we hear constantly from the world around us. Dr Anderson turns this on its head, and shows why God commands in the 10 commandments not to covet. The reason is the principle that people can only be happy in praising God in all circumstances, and "wanting what you have" so that you can enjoy life NOW instead of always waiting to have life in all its fullness and being unwilling to thank God for all His goodness very day (actually every moment!).

I totally recommend this book, whatever maturity you have in relationship to God.
