I bought this to read to my 6-month old on the basis that he loves Happy Dog Sad Dog by Sam Lloyd. It's hard to tell from the information available on Amazon exactly what age the books will suit, but I would say that this one would be enjoyed more by a slightly older child as the text is too long for the concentration span of my little one. There are 3 or 4 sentences on many of the pages. I didn't find the artwork as endearing as in Happy Dog Sad Dog either. The front cover is indicative of the artwork in the rest of the book - characters are quite elongated! The story is fine as these things go, but nothing really special. I'm sure my little one will enjoy it well enough when he's a bit older, but I was a bit disappointed because it was not quite what I was expecting.
