John Michael 'Ozzy' Osbourne was born, on 3 December 1948, in the industrial city of Birmingham, England. He was one of six children in a poor working-class family. He has been an icon for over thirty years but, as John O'Reilly asked back in 1998, of what? 'Of metal fans for being the vocalist of Black Sabbath? Or is he an overblown rock casualty? [...] Or a successful cartoon figure created by his marketing-genius wife?' Or just a devil-worshipping, foul-mouthed, multi-millionaire? Most recently, Ozzy has been very popular with the American and British public as the star of The Osbournes, a fly-on-the-wall-docu-soap that has beaten all previous MTV viewing figures. Here, the 'tat-tooed, former booze-ridden, former drug-crazed sex god' is seen as the far from average husband, and father of teenage children. This is I Love Lucy meets The Simpsons by way of The Addams Family - and the world loves it! In this diverting, fast-paced read, Sue Crawford, a professional author and journalist, charts the extraordinary life and times of Ozzy Osbourne with huge affection and a wit to match the man himself. Hard-core fans will not be disappointed either. Ozzy is a true original, who has made the most of his opportunities and talents. We may be no less surprised and delighted than he is himself to find him alive and well in the new millennium. This fascinating biography is that rare thing; a genuine page-turner. With 32 pages of colour photographs, including a number of rare and unusual shots, and a full discography and chronology, Ozzy is a comprehensive, mind-blowing study of the past, present and, with its specially commissioned astrological chart, even the future of a true survivor and a true star.

Ozzy - World's Greatest Dad
This is one of the funniest books I have ever read. Managed to get through it in two days! I only put it down long enough to wipe the tears of laughter from my eyes. This is one of the most ordinary yet extraordinary blokes that has ever walked the face of the planet. He seems to look at everything through the eyes of a child & boy does he speak his mind. The bonus is you get to find out what Sharon is like aswell.
A must for all fans of 'The Osbournes' - a guaranteed good read.
Worthy of your time
As someone who is fairly new to ozzy osbourne i found the book to be very informative and help give an insight in to the one of the music industries... well let's say most memorable characters and after reading the book (which took little more than five hours) i had a new understanding of the music and enjoyed it all the more for it.
An excellent and enjoyable read!
This is a really easy and fun book to read and is extremely funny in places. I couldnt put it down and read it over a weekend. Any one who is a fan of Ozzy is unlikely to learn anything new as most of his famous stories are already public knowledge (Dove and Bat head biting, The Alamo etc...) It has been also updated with more recent history of Ozzy since its initital release. It doesnt however cover his recent stay at Wrexham Park Hospital in Slough after falling off his Quad bike but after reading the stories in the book you will find this isnt the first time he has had such an accident! One thing that is described in great detail throughout the book is how influential Sharon has been, and continues to be, in Ozzy's life. It goes into detail about Ozzy's previous marriage and the airplane crash involving Randy Rhodes that was most interesting to read. It doesnt seem to focus much on his time with Sabbath which is a shame but thats probably because he has done so much in his solo career. I certainly recommend it as a light, funny and interesting book.
