Essential book for the Home Workshop
This book, and Jim Cox's other book in the Workshop Practice Series, are packed full of practically orientated information on using eletric motors. The information on running three phase motors on single phase supplies has enabled me to equip my workshop with industrial machinery at low cost. If you have a small workshop you should buy this book.

This is book 2 on the subject by Jim Cox.
This book takes a more detailed look into motor design theory, and thus selection of right type, power etc.
It cover starting & control, battery supplies, capacitors etc.
Includes less common techniques such as remagnitizing permanent magnets.
Lots of information on sourcing 2nd hand items, how to incorporate them into typical workshop projects ... drills, grinders, millers, linishers etc.
This is book 24 in Workshop Practice Series.
Recommended buy along with book 16 "Electric Motors"
