Not a book I would by if I had a chance to review
I was disappointed with Tugs & Trawlers as I was expecting a book which can give hints on how to built a model from stcratch. Most of the pages are spent on describing how to build a ready kit, which I believe is already very well covered if I buy the kit. The book rather than describing how to built from scratch, names magazines and books where you can find such information defying the whole purpose of my buying it. Even though it might be a good reading for people about tugs and trawlers, I did not find it valuable for myself

An excellent introduction to Tug modelling
I enjoyed this book, its easy style and graphic detail made it the only book on this subject that you will need. The modeller is taken through every stage in the manufacture of an actual tug model. Every stage is in great detail and even the beginner to boat modelling will have no problems in producing a workmanlike model.

nice book for beginner
I agree with another reader this is not a book about scratch building. I'm a complete beginner and this is a nice book to read although its size dictates that it can't be an encyclopedia on building. One infuriating thing to me is that there is no direct reference to any of the photographs or diagrams in the book text. This in inexcusable and I don't know how the publisher has allowed it. The proximity of the text to related photographs makes for disjointed reading and lowers the pleasure in use. The book itself is nice quality on good paper and the author obviously is experienced. I would recommend it although I doubt whether it would be as good for an experienced modeller either for its building content or its specialisation on tugs.
