Product Description

Hyperventilation syndrome may bring with it a host of other symptoms, such as headaches, nightmares, hypochondria and tingling sensations all over the body. While explaining what hyperventilation is and what causes it, this book includes tests which enable the reader to check whether they are bad breathers, and exercises which lessen the effect and enable the sufferer to breathe properly. Also included are a number of personal stories from people who have been identified as chronic hyperventilators and who have overcome the problems by using the drug free methods described in this book.

Customer Reviews

A Life-saving, stress relieving experience!5
As a physio, I have referred countless "bad breathers" to this book for user-friendly self help advice. In many cases it has turned around years of pain and unexplained symptoms..... it sounds too simple! Highly recommended in today's fast paced world

What a great book!5
this book turned my life round after years of misdiagnosis. Best news -- this book is back in print -- into its 3rd edition.

A reassuring read4
I found this book after trying to work out what was wrong with my breathing. I don't suffer from asthma, but following an extended period of stress in my life I had noticed that my breathing was very heavy and strained...lots of sighs, yawns and big gulps of air...and felt that this was contributing to me feeling continually exhausted and irritable. I looked on Amazon to see if there were any books on breathing and hyperventilating and came across this one. I'm so glad I did because it was a real insight into so many of my ongoing problems with my energy levels, stress levels, and breathing problems. I found it extremely reassuring to read the accounts of numerous other people in the book whose breathing had gone awry as a result of stress, and I welcomed the practical information on how to put my breathing right again. I've since purchased another book that focuses on the Buteyko technique and this has also really helped. I'm thankfully feeling much calmer and more energised nowadays...
