About the Author
Formerly a beauty editor and author of 30 bestselling pocket books, Liz Earle turned to skincare in 1995 because of her own problem skin. With Kim Buckland, they launched 'Naturally Active Skincare', which has won numerous awards and accolades, including MBEs for its founders. What you see is what you get with Liz Earle, she knows about skin and this book does not disappoint. It's not just another beauty book, but a complete manual about skin - everyone's skin: how it functions, explanations of what can cause problems, as well as how to make sure it behaves its best. Liz has always backed up her message with serious research and her reputation for integrity is fully endorsed in this book. It's easily digested, attractive to read, and full of sound information and advice. I'd say it was a must-have for all women (and men!), no matter what their skin type. Hmmm, Mothers' Day coming up....

At last! A clear, informative, digestible and beautiful book about skin care, for women and men of all ages. Having had skin problems myself I know how difficult it is to find straightforward and reliable solutions and, having used Liz's products for at least 12 years I know I can always rely on her advice. The beauty of this book is that, while it encompasses a vast amount of scholarly research, it is laid out in clear and accessible sections and written in Liz's friendly and chatty style. Her passion for her subject is infectious and you feel you know her well by the end of the book! While it's a pleasure to sit and read through the whole thing, its headings and chapter titles make it easy to dip into any time. The directory of suppliers and services is a fantastic resource too. The photography, stunning botanical watercolours, and Liz's frequent suggestions for enticing treats, such as the do-it-yourself facial and several delicious recipes add a real feel-good factor to the serious business of looking after our skin. Fantastic!

A must-have for any beauty addict, and for those who want to know more from an expert in her field about skincare - all from a balanced, holistic point of view. Based on sound research and expertise gleaned from years in the beauty industry, this author clearly knows her stuff and it shows. She won an MBE for services to the beauty industry, my mother-in-law told me. Impressive stuff. (Gorgeous pictures too, so a great coffee table staple too!) Great for gifting - it covers skincare across all decades from teens to menopause, and way beyond - and also men, which is refreshing to see. I really enjoyed this and find myself coming back to dip in and out again to learn more. A real treat
