IDEOs' Portfolio Within Your Grasp
The title is basically a summary portfolio of IDEOs best work.
There are some text within chapters explaining what IDEO do, but if one knows who IDEO are, then these texts become irrelevant. Majority of the 156 pages in this title are covered with pictures of final concept models that IDEO have done over their successful years. The products are explained with a small paragraph, detailing the concept behind the product. These examples become quite interesting and fascinating taking the reader into the imaginative world of IDEO.
This book could have been better, by showing the concept generation stages and how IDEO team members generate these ideas. The title would have fared well from IDEOs extensive case studies. These case studies would have explained better how IDEO manage to come up with innovative solutions.
As a product designer, I always welcome inspiration. This title does well to address this. This title is worth keeping on the shelf, and would be ideal for those people who are into product design, innovation or general consumer goods.
A fantastic insight of amazing new and innovative design.
This book has inspired me immensly.
The way in which the ideo team work and co-exsist with each other in the same working space is fascinating, and the book reflects this.
It's amazing how many products one recognises just by flicking hrough the pages, and some of the concept designs are breathtaking. I fully reccomend this book to anyone who enjoys design and design developement, for a new perspective on creating for everyday life in an unordinary way.
