Not as easy as you might think!
I chose this book because it was described as being for beginners and found myself somewhat disappointed. The "basic" materials it seems to me are not so basic. Quote: "To build most of the kites in this book, you will need to buy equipment from a specialist kite or hobby shop." I was looking for simple kites that my son and I could build and fly together and since we have no way of finding some of the supplies needed, this book is of no help to me personally. So, why a 4 star rating??
I didn't rate the book because of my poor choice (I just wanted to warn others who might be looking for something simpler!).
This really is a beautiful book, full of clear step-by step instructions and illustrations and wonderful photos of the finished kites. Also some nice tips on flying kites (which I did find useful!)
So, if you have access to the materials and are willing to spend some time building with the kids (they won't be able to build these kites by themselves) this is the book to choose.
