A well written book about a very small air force
Given that the Irish Air Corps is one of Europe's smallest air forces, Donal MacCarron has done extremely well to write as much as he has on the subject. The Air Corps (not officially a "Force") of the Republic of Ireland has neither large transport 'planes nor even jet fighters any longer - so this is a primarily a book about helicopters and small spotter planes. Well researched and illustrated, it is a comprehensive study that does not just look at the technical side of military aviation, but also contains some of the fascinating human stories that go to make up an organisation little-known outside its native land.
