An Interesting dwelve into the world of Rock'n Roll
The book does cover a wide aspect of the life of Rock'n Roll, I did enjoy reading it.But I am afraid it didn't enlighten me in any way, nor did it reveal anything new about the band. I would say that it reminds me of a diary over Liam's drinking habits, and the mischief it leads to. Still the book is an interesting read, certainly for the "new" Oasis fan. Not extremely well written, but articulated at an acceptable level. But overall I think I prefer Paolo Hewitt's interpertation of Oasis, and the tales he brings....
Definitly made me see deeper in to oasis and the bands lifes
A truly interesting book which had me glued. I am a fan of Oasis but this did not stop me looking deeper in to the minds of the men behind the mic. We learn from the former road manager what makes them tick and what is under all of the hard man apperence . The best its hard to sum up in words.
An enjoyable read
The author was first taken on as security for the band and then as their tour manager. The book tells of his hiring, his travels with the band and his eventual firing - I think it is fair to say that the author had a somewhat troubled relationship with Liam (who got him sacked) and a much more harmonious one with Noel and this is reflected in the bias of the book; there is a lot of 'Liam doing bad things under the influence...' stories (which I'm sure are true) whilst Noel appears to have been really rather well behaved for the most part (which I find difficult to believe even though I am a massive NG fan!). The writing is very accessable, some chapters are written in a script format as he recounts conversations he's had, whilst others follow a more conventional form but he offers an often amusing if not terribly in-depth look at the band at the beginning of their career.
Don't expect in-depth analysis of the brothers' relationship or band politics, it is mentioned here but not in great detail. The same can be said for the recording of the 2nd album (which is where the book takes you to). If you want a detailed history of the band at this time you will need to look elsewhere.
