The best of the bunch
This is easily the best of the "Qualified Teacher Status" books. As science is a very practical subject, this book is the ideal companion for a trainee teacher.
It's full of lessons plans and ideas on how to put across certain topics. This is essential for a trainee teacher as you may not know where to look to find ideas for lessons. However the lesson plans are a little brief for what a student teacher is required to produce but they are good for starters. There are plenty of experiments in here to keep children occupied. Some experiments are quite standard, others are not. But there is enough here to keep you going for a good few weeks in each scientific topic.
It's an excellent book that no trainee teacher can do without. Its a very good platform to work from and improve your own lessons. It's also a good reference tool to look on if in times of need.
