Synopsis
Containing details of all executions carried out in Scotland from 1750 to 1963, this unique book will be of great value to genealogists and those attempting to trac e ancestors. '
From the Publisher
Major interest to genealogy groups and those tracing ancestors. Great interest to those who buy books on true crime - as far as we know, there are no other books so comprehensive and nothing else quite like it in print.
Customer Reviews
painstakingly well researched.
As I was also trying to research this subject I am aware of the dearth of accurate information available and how hard it is to extrapolate. This book took a non judgemental approach to the task, the crimes, the perpetrators, and methodology all being given equal status.Overall he had covered every crime which led to an execution from days when records were scarecly kept through to the more contemporary 1960's with equal dilligence. Mr young has managed to unearth facts about scottish executions most people could not have thought of seeking out.Of it type this is an execellent scource of reference, which he makes no moral judgements as to the efficacy or otherwise of the ultimate penalty.
Great value for the money. Many thanks.
I was desperate for some specific information and the purchase of this volume answered all my queries.
