Editorial Reviews

Synopsis
The aim of this text is to demonstrate to the well-prepared candidate how to translate the knowledge gained through studies into answers that will attract high grades, not by the quoting of abstruse cases that settle fine points of law, but by the logical use of material that should be within the student's knowledge. Topics in which there have been recent developments are always popular with examiners, and included in this book are questions involving nervous shock, negligent misstatement, nuisance, Rylands v Fletcher and defamation.

Jolly Good Job5
Dr. David Green provides fifty speciment questions and model answers dealing with vicarious liabilty, negligence, breach of statutory duty, employers' liability, product liability, occupiers' liability, nuisance, the rule in Ryland's, animals, defamation, trespass, economic torts, remedies, and general defences. Memorization of everything relating to tortious behavior, liability, and defenses would be of little assistance in sitting for an exam if the examinee is unable to condense, organize and express that material in a manner which resonates well with examiners. Q & A illustrates the kind of information needed in addressing specific problems. Dr. Green presents model anwers with a logical flow which stays on track and covers essential points. Dr. Green stated that "[a]n ideal reaction by the reader to the suggested solutions ... should be 'I can do that', not 'Gosh, how clever the author is ...'," a goal which he accomplishes rather cleverly by the logical application of basic material. He makes no pretense of providing "the" answer, but of illustrating what form an adequately knowledgeable and succinctly expressed answer would take. The book is especially valuable for highlighting the issues which need to spotted and and dealt with as the examinee frames a response.
