"Life, even the Christian life, is not a gallop from one thrill to another - there are the boring bits. Jesus has washed my sins away, but I still have to wash the car". Just some of the quotes from this book which takes a light-hearted look at the Christian life.

'Thought provoking, witty, intelligent, articulate, funny and disarmingly honest. Lucas on Life made me laugh, made me think and made me wish that I could write like that.'

an honest and rich experience, where the author delves into life's major themes (relationships, death, sex, spirituality...)and craftily connects together his own higgledy-piggledy existence with lifes 'real' questions. it is not a package of trite religious answers that you find in the pages of stories, but hilarious honesty, delightful discovery, ambitious adventures by ordinary folk... it is to be savoured and enjoyed a story or 2 at a time...to NOT reflect on each story is to miss the authors intention and the readers opportunity. it's bill bryson type-observation & everyday humour meeting with ordinary geezer asking life's little & big questions and finding hope. marvellous...this is what paper was made for.
witty, clever and inspiring
I bought this book for my boyfriend who read it and loved it. His whole family then progressively read it, so in the end it was inevitable i should read it too! Highly entertaining: it makes you laugh out loud, but also real: yes, life as a christian really does get this bizarre! Fundamentally though, as Lucas reveals, we can take it all with the love of Jesus in our lives and, of course, a sense of humour! A thoroughly good read that comes highly recommended from all the people i know who've read it!
Seriously funny, truthfull and lots of food for thought.
'Lucas on Life' has to be one of the funniest books I have ever read.
It draws your attention to day-to-day situations and has your sides almost splitting with laughter, then the truth becomes the punchline and you realise that this is not just about Jeff Lucas, It's about how we react to certain situations, and how as a christian we should be reacting. It's a book that you pick up and do not want to put down.
It's easy to get into, it has short chapters and it makes you question yourself.
I just hope Jeff Lucas will write more like this!
