Great guide to digital audio
This book gives you all the basic info that you need to start recording with your computer. It explains about digital audio, MIDI, choosing a computer system and also gives you information about a number of plug-ins (the software alternative to effects racks). There is also a brief section on mixing and information about microphones etc, along with a glossary at the back. A great introduction to computer recording although I did find the MIDI section a little hard going.
