Synopsis
Admiral Lord Cochrane was a naval hero of the Napoleonic Wars. He also went in for radical politics and was an ingenious inventor, proposing the use of saturation bombing and chemical warfare over half a century before their use. With a new introduction by Richard Woodman, this autiobiography chronicles his early expoloits against the Spanish, his campaigns against the incompetence and corruption in the navy and government, his accusations of timidity against this superiors, and his inventiveness and eccentricity.

From the mind of the 'Sea Wolf'
A wonderful insight into the mind of the man who was arguably the best frigate captain in Nelson's navy.
This is the real autobiography, written during his retirement. Cochrane allows you to share his thoughts, strategies, fears and his anger at what he feels was a corrupt establishment.
When you read this you will realise why Cochrane has been the inspiration for the characters of so many fictional, Napoleonic, naval heroes.
Excellent book a real hero militarily & politically
Should be a movie - although it the style is Victorian the subject is compelling!
