Review
A cornucopia of essential statistics including over 60 country profiles and world rankings that take in over 170 countries, comparing economic performance, life expectancy, education, household spending, and so on. Useful and oddly compelling. (Kirkus UK)

Customer Reviews

Like the title says, it's all in figures!3
The size came as a bit of a shock - as, for the price, I was expecting something a little larger. However, it does give you figures on almost anything you want to know about the world. Would be more interesting if more substantial text was given next to each chart - the background, so to speak. However, I suppose it wouldn't be a "pocket book" otherwise. All in all, interesting but lacking in backgroud data and absolutely no pictures. Just figures after figures after figures....

The world at your fingertips4
The latest edition of the World in Figures from the Economist Pocket Book series is a little gem of a book. For students and teachers there is a wealth of information on virtually every country in the world. The range and diversity of the information is outstanding. All in all a worthwhile addition to the library of anyone who wants an annual update on major developments and shifts in the global economy. Excellent value.
