An account of the Operation from a different angle4
A good Spellmount Classic, at just about 170 pages, it details the experiences of a young Army doctor at Oosterbeek and Arnhem. This isn't a book that will provide a researcher with detailed facts and statistics about the military operation that was the most extreme objective of Market-Garden. What you do get, is an excellent account of one man's experiences, and what he witnesses caught up in the maelstrom of intense combat in that fateful week in late September of 1944.

Each chapter deals with the specific day that he was there, and the author recounts with remarkably clear detail on those he meets, and treats, throughout the action. Along with a complimentary foreword from General Sir John Hackett, this book has a particulary personal touch on one man's feelings on living through an important event in British military history. I recommend it.
