Average customer review:Product Description
A stirring, and at times disturbing, account of actions of the American 29th and British 3rd Infantry Divisions in the first few weeks of the Normandy campaign. From the D-Day landings on Omaha and Sword beaches to the eventual liberation of St Lo and Caen, the author compares and contrasts the actions of these fine fighting men and describes in detail how they suffered a staggering 10,000 casualties in the completion of their similar missions.

eagles and bulldogs
This is a very sketchy account of D Day and the following actions leading to the final completion of the missions layed out in the original plans. The author refers too many times to books by other authors with the assumption that the reader has read these books or has a substansive knowledge of the events. It left me a little bewildered about some of the events being explanned. That said I did actually enjoy reading it.
