Still relevant
A book that shows that history can still be angry and useful for awakening questions in students and general readers.
It has some difficult views but that is why it deserves attention. It is problematic to place the book as simply slave writings because it crosses into religious fervour, political unrest, direct action etc. It is easy to find comparisons to present day but that is a distraction rather this book shows history is not a finished product.
