From the Author
Journeys with the esoteric martial arts masters
Long fascinated with the mystical and energetic aspects of the martial arts , I set out on a journey to study with the masters of these traditions . From the taoist arts of bagua , taiji and hsing i ......to the tibetan spiritual fighting arts.....to the magical practices of indonesian pentjak silat.....along the way i saw many amazing things and witnessed strange skills. Some of these things I have written about in this book , along with the life stories and training skills of the various masters . The more I practice and teach these arts , the more I see that they are about far more than just fighting.....they are a way of facing and working with the deepest aspects of who we are . And that is the way of the esoteric warrior.

A most facinating read.5
A fellow kung fu practictioner lent me this book as he knew I also studied Xing Yi Quan. I took it home after a hard lesson in shaolin kung fu and thought i'd have a browse through it before bed. Well...... at 04:30 I closed it and sat back in amazement! If you have an interest in martial arts that goes any deeper than kicking & punching then you must read this volume.

Excellent!5
Alex Kozma's book is an excellent introduction to the Taoist internal martial arts. Whilst not a handbook for training as such, the book is fascinating for both beginners and experienced practitioners alike. As someone who has had the privilege of having Alex as a teacher, I can attest to the deep knowledge on which his book is based.

Found this to be a bit bizarre1
I've heard of people like this who travel from teacher to teacher acquiring titbits of knowledge but I was quite suprised to actually read a whole book by one. If anyone has got their black belt like me, they know that you don't get good by seeing lots of different people. You focus on one style and you get good at that. These drifters can't honestly believe they've been given the keys to the city by the Master can they? How patently silly!

You get good by attending dojo 3 times a week, learning kata and taking your grade. A few years later you are good at the art. This fella suggests that he's picked up the art and is teaching it after just a brief encounter. Come on, John, pull the other one will you?
