A poinant reminder of the destruction of previous nations
This is an excellent book which goes into the issue of how the previous people which make up the major part of the qur'an rejected the message of the prophets to worship one god and how they were dealt with according to thier transgressions. I think it is an excellent book. I deals with a fascinating subject matter very well. The author spends some of his book going into the arcealogical proof for the people mentioned in the qur'an and how they interliked with each other. An intresting example of this the link between abraham and Lot, how the angles that came to Abraham moved onto Lot and destroyed the town of Sodom, the birhplace of homosexuallity. For muslims this is an essential reading piece and for non-muslims provides a deep and meaningful insight on how the qur'an view ancient history.
