Synopsis
This is a book about Progressive Witchcraft which the authors see as being more eclectic and universal than Alexandrian and Gardnerian Wicca. Witchcraft is composed of three main elements - Magic, Mysticism and Religion - each treated in depth, and integrated in this excellent, practical book. Witchcraft contains elements of Shamanism and this book includes techniques such as dance, breathing techniques and the use of sacred herbs to explore other states of consciousness. Techniques and teaching from many different countries and cultures are integrated and used to great effect, drawn from the courses and teachings carried out by the authors. The book gives a solid grounding in personal magical work, aimed primarily at the sole practitioner, though members of groups will also benefit from the teachings given.

Original works on Wicca which is not that easy to find!
WICCA AND WITCHCRAFT? Well if you ever wanted one book that says it all in clear, no nonsense and practical language, without being fluffy and basic I would recommend Magick Without Peers. David Rankine is well known for his fantastic open rituals and workshops on Wicca and Ritual Magick in the UK, but is also a rising writer of a very much needed new generation of occult writers. This is his first book...
The best Wicca/ Witchcraft books for a lost beginner
If you want to learn about magick and witchcraft/ wicca and if you are serious about taking the Craft seriously, then this book is for you.
It contains everything a neophyte would learn in a traditional coven, though the methods and ideals have moved on with the times and into modern times, hence the sub-title -' a course in progressive witchcraft.'
I would seriously recommend this book to everyone who is just starting out on their path into magick and witchcraft, but also to those who have been dabbling without direction for some time. Rather than buying ten other books and having to read them all, this book is to the point and contains it all, from herbs to rituals, spells, chants etc.
