The course is divided into ten units, each corresponding to a morning or afternoon of business over five working days and is based on everyday situations found in most businesses in the course of a typical week: coping with messages; giving instructions; unwanted callers; stock availability; correspondences; insisting; complaints; dealing with problems; making decisions; travel arrangement; getting people to pay; phoninh around; playing for time; and dealing with numbers. Activities involve realistic problem-solving; using phone, fax and e-mail; grammar revision; intensive listening; discussion; and everyday correspondence.

Customer Reviews

Excellent choice for teachers of Business English5
This book was recommended to me by another teacher and I'm delighted to say that I have found the contents and lessons extremely useful to both myself and my students studying Business English. My students really felt like they were actually 'working' within the companies outlined in the book and were enthusiastic about giving their input and advices as they would in an every day working situation.

The book is aimed at intermediate students and I'm only sorry that there doesn't appear to be an advance level book available to continue when this coursebook is complete. Well done Anne Watson-Delestree and Jimmie Hill. I look forward to future publications.

LTP gets colourful4
This book provides an excellent balance of grammar, functions and the "lexical approach". It is a pleasure to teach with, not least because for once LTP have produced a book with colour pictures. This move from austerity should be encouraged.

Not for quiet students!5
I loved the idea of this book, dividing the normal contents of a business course into days of the week, covering everything from telephoning to emails to presentations in manageable chunks. Aimed at intermediate level, many of the activities can be adapted for higher or lower levels. Clear and concise, with a useful grammar section, I have found it a worthwhile investment for communicative students of business English.
