About the Author
Mary Beardwood's first encounter with the Arab World was in 1978, when she and her husband went to live in Oman. Over a period of 23 years she lived in Qatar and the UAE, teaching in Arab, British, and International schools. Drawing on her long experience in teaching and her love of children, her book is the fruit of her resolve to provide a book especially for them.
Customer Reviews
Interesting, informative and well presented book.
I found this book to be fascinating. The text was interesting and it gave me a lot of information that I didn't even know, and I have been living in Arabia for ten years. The pictures were amazing, all full colour. I loved reading the book. It gave me lots of facts about the history, culture, desert and all the different variety of life to be found there.
The book is well presented and it is easy to look something up. I think both adults and young children will find it interesting and easy to read and use.
I thoroughly recommend this encyclopaedia as an excellent first resource on Arabia and ask parents to buy it for their children.
