This is a hugely entertaining book, and valuable historically. The Famous and Infamous include novelists, royalty, politicians and murderers. The account of the pomposity of the late Anthony Powell is so funny I can read it over and over again.

I Once Met5
This is a really nice book which is good for dipping in and out when you have a few minutes to spare. It has lots of anecdotes about a good variety of different people.

Pleasing, easy reading. You can dip into it and read for 2 or 20 minutes. Of course you've got to have heard of the persons 'met'. But they're all tightly written, and all I've given the book to have enjoyed it too.
