Corruption, incompetence and bullying at the heart of Europ
I wish I could remember who said "for evil to triumph all that is needed is for good men to do nothing" Paul Van Buitenen (PVB) is a good man - and he did something for which he is being pilloried and persecuted.
Good Europeans should support Paul. They should write to their MP, their MEP, the press, the Prime Minister .... Good European should put pressure on our political 'servants' for a truly effective change in the way the EU is run. Good Europeans should protest loudly about the awful and evil pressure put upon Paul and his and his family.
This book tells of monumental, unbelievable, corruption and incompetence - but it actually happened - and is still happening. The reaction from the European Commission was sinister and frightening. Support from the European Parliament was pitiful - until the press got hold of the story. Sinister and frightening pressure was put upon this courageous man and his family. After a shameful public exposé, the Commission was investigated by a 'Panel of Experts', but the subsequent corrective action program by Commissioner Kinnock is little more than spin-doctoring and window dressing.
Public minded people should read this book and play up hell with their political representatives. We citizens deserve better than this. The European Union will never work unless truly effective changes are made.
Well done, Paul Van Buitenen - you are a better man than I
