Product Description
From the author of Our Island Story, this history of Scotland from the earliest times is, in the words of H.E. Marshall herself, a story 'woven with the golden threads of romance and glittering with the rubies and sapphires of Fairyland.' Macbeth, William Wallace, Robert the Bruce, Mary Queen of Scots and Bonny Prince Charlie all feature in this stirring tale of a great and proud nation. Told for the benefit of the 'littler people who care for their country's story', this classic history, now back in print, will appeal to everyone whose heart stirs at the sound of the bagpipe.

About the Author
Surprisingly little is known about the life of Henrietta Elizabeth Marshall. She is thought to have been born in 1867, but the date of her death is unknown. She concealed her gender using the initials H. E. in her writing. Her most widely read book, Our Island Story, was first published in 1905 and went through many editions. She penned several other books including Our Empire Story and King's and Things, the latter of which was also recently republished by Galore Park.
