Maximise your science teaching
This book has been a fantastic help to me whilst I've been getting to grips with the basics of teaching science. It has lots of helpful advice about key issues like how to plan effectively and what strategies are the best for teaching science. Each chapter has a real classroom 'case study' which helps to bring the theory to life.
The Standards are referenced throughout, which is very reassuring as there are many, many of them! By the end of this book you will feel ready for all the assessment they can chuck at you. So don't get anxious - get prepared!
A very thorough, useful resource for all levels of Primary Teachers
This book has proven to be very useful, interesting and thorough resource for me as a student, so I am certain this will be the same for all teachers at every level, especially NQT's. This is the 3rd, fully revised edition for the new 2007 Standards and includes sections on planning, using ICT, Health & Safety and many others. I would recommend it to anybody who is finding teaching Primary Science lessons challenging to use this as a guide to improve their methods and increase their confidence. It will be a real help to them.
Help for 4/98!
Very useful for helping you fill out your 4/98 document as each chapter gives you the standards covered. Also gives chapter summaries which are also very helpful
