a good stating book for teens5
this book helps you to lern the most impotant parts of witch craft and now i'm a proper witch after seeing this book, it was my first book and i recomend it to anyone whos in to witch craft its a grate read!

great beginners guide4
This was such an interesting read, even for those who don't practise wicca.Several people I know started practising because of it.It contains some very useful spells and information about wicca. It covers the basics, and although it does not delve too deeply into the general practice it does give readers a good idea of what it is about. The emphasis throughout the book is on using magick for good and never to harm others. A good, worthwhile read for any teen interested in wicca

Fizz, glitter, and not much substance.2
This book covers some of the basics, in very little detail. It has a few spells and some interesting advice. Other than that it's not really that helpful. There are much better books out there, so if you have any serious interest in witchcraft or Wicca, look elsewhere.

That being said I rather liked the book, it was quite enjoyable to read. (Hence the fact it has 2 stars rather than 1.) It's all very `love and light' with a nice handful of glitter thrown in (metaphorically speaking). However if this book is where you get your idea of what witchcraft and Wicca really are then you are in for a shock when you finally meet real Wiccans and witches. No single book can tell you everything you need to know of course, but this book is so short it couldn't possibly come close even if it wanted to. It's a blatant attempt to market to teens, and a lot of its advice seems to focus on starting your own little `coven' with your friends. Most of the spells/rituals have a `slumber party' feel to them.

If all you want is to dip your toe in the water and you don't want anything too heavy this book is ok. But be warned, it's nothing but a miniscule taster of what witchcraft really is. You will not be a `real' witch just from reading this book, it takes years of training and dedication, and this book doesn't even come close to preparing you for what's in store.
