From the Inside Flap
To hold any kind of conversation in Scottish Gaelic, you need a firm grasp of the Gaelic verb. Sentences tend to start with a verb, and even to answer a simple 'yes' or 'no' in Gaelic requires the confident and correct use of verbs. Not only does this book explain the formation and function of all parts of the Gaelic verb, but it also goes beyond the brief descriptions to be found in most course books. Gaelic Verbs is packed with step-by-step explanations, numerous examples in a wide range of registers, and copious notes. Within its covers you will find help with all those aspects of Gaelic verbs which can be so troublesome to learners, including Verbal Nouns, the Assertive Verb, Defective Verbs and Irregular Verbs. You will also encounter much incidental vocabulary, grammar, and sound examples of usage.

For those interested in a more academic approach
This book I see as supplemental to a gaelic course and/or other gaelic books, but is the book I turn to first when I need clarification or better understanding.
Its not for everyone. If you don't want to understand tenses or want to learn by repitition rather than thinking, you may not get much out of it.
If you want to understand how verbs change from tense to tense and have examples of when/how to use a tense, this will help. But it also gives much more.
I often refer to the appendices which have a good explanation of lenition, a table of prepositional pronouns (aig means at but depending on context you would use agam - at me - or aice - at her - etc) and more.
In summary, great for anyone looking for something a little more logic based than the usual learn gaelic books.
