WALKING OVER THE WAVES Chris Foote Wood
This is an excellent research book for those who enjoy more than just a passing interest in our seaside towns and how the many piers looked years ago. It also explains how they survived over the years.
As a Cornishman used to the granite breakwaters and solid harbour piers of Smeeton, ....there is a fascination about fragile looking metal piles, wooden decked walkways and entertainment houses, often far out to sea.......
